I Was in Raqqa is the story of Mohamed Fahem, a former member of Islamic State (ISIS). Hedi Yahmed writed this book.[1] [2] Mohamed Fahem is a 27-year old Tunisian jihadist who traveled to the self-proclaimed Islamic State (ISIS), alternatively known as ISIL, and joined the Islamic State (ISIS) in November 2015.

Mohamed Fahem describes the experience he and his friends went through during the journey in his memoir.[3] Mohamed Fahem spent most of his time in Raqqa ,Syria but he could have visited ISIS-controlled cities in Iraq such as Mosul.

Mohamed Fahem refutes the description 'Islamic terrorism' and considers the acts of ISIS fighters as non-Islamic.

Mohamed Fahem left Tunis to fight for jihadist groups. He changed tack and return to the his country.[4][5]

This book is bestsellers in Tunis and Iran and caused a lot of discussion.[6]
