Sivagiri is a panchayat town in Kodumudi Taluk Erode district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

Sivagiri has an average elevation of 199 metres (653 ft). It is located 25 km (16 mi) to the south of Erode, 35 km (22 mi) to the north-west of Karur, 40 km (25 mi) to the west of Namakkal and 45 km (28 mi) to the east of Tirupur.

Sivagiri means 'Shiva's peak', which might have been derived from the hill lock with a Shiva temple located in the town.

The economy of the town is dependent on the agriculture and textile industries.

Sivagiri is well connected with Erode and Karur, the neighboring towns by local transports.

There are many temples in this city including sree arulmigu kamakshi amman temple, Sri Velayudha Swami temple and in nearby villege of ammankovil Sri Ponkaliamman temple. about 3 km away from Sivagiri towards Arachalur in a place called Vilakkethy the temple of Sri Vimalambika Samedha Vithgavinadheeswara exists and believed that Vilakkethi Sithar performed poojas in this temple by lighting deepam and hence the name Vilakkethi came for this Village. As os 2011 India census,[1] Sivagiri had a population of 17,979 . Males constituted 51% of the population and females 49%. Sivagiri has an average literacy rate of 65%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 75%, and female literacy is 55%. In Sivagiri, 9% of the population is under 6 years of age
