About me
My name is Jackie Koerner. I have a PhD in Higher Education. I am an educator and advocate passionate about open work and accessibility. Regarding my research, I study complex social problems. I firmly believe in ethnography and action research - "nothing about us, without us"
My work
I presented at Wikimania 2017 and WikiConference North America 2017 about Implicit Bias on Wikipedia.
I created a proposal for a project grant to investigate the Impact of Implicit Bias on Wikipedia.
In November 2017, I attended the Wikimedia Diversity Conference in Stockholm, Sweden. I loved going deeper in difficult conversations with such a broad community.
That same month, I also joined the editorial board of the WikiJournal of the Humanities.
I presented about bias during Wikipedia Day 2018 at Wikimedia NYC
I serve as a member of the Project Grants Committee.
I submitted a presentation proposal and a workshop to Wikimania 2018, so I hope to meet you there!

Disclosure
As of November 2016, I am a Wikipedia Visiting Scholar of San Francisco State University and the Paul K. Longmore Institute on Disability in San Francisco, California. I aim to abide by Wikipedia's accepted practices on conflict of interest, neutrality, and notability. This is an unpaid position aimed at connecting Wikipedia contributors with content.  Dear fellow Wikipedian, You are invited to attend the 15th St. Louis Wikipedia and WikiProject Meetup. We are doing a quick touch-base to gather current interest and make a plan for more regular meetups in the future. The meetup is next Thursday, August 16 from 5-6 PM with more structure and from 6-7 PM social time. This all takes part during Venture Cafe's Thursday Gatherings at Cortex in the The District in St. Louis. There are free drinks.
