Tengger (Mongolian: ᠲᠡᠩᠭᠡᠷᠢ, lit. "sky"; simplified Chinese: 腾格尔; traditional Chinese: 騰格爾; pinyin: Ténggé'ěr; Wade–Giles: Teng Ko Erh; born January 15, 1960), also known as Tenger or Tengri, is a Chinese singer, songwriter and composer of Mongolian ethnicity. He was born in Otog Banner, Inner Mongolia, China into the Sainbayar family.

He composed and sang the song "I am a Mongol" (蒙古人, měng gǔ rén) in 1986 which made him famous.[1] Since then, he has written theme songs for a number of TV series and movies.[2] Tengger held a concert in the United States on September 14, 2001, shortly after the September 11 attacks, during which he dedicated his song "Heaven" to the victims of the 911 terrorist attacks. He performed the closing titles theme of the CCTV television series Kangxi Dynasty and Amazing Detective Di Renjie etc.
