Totally Awesome is a Television movie which premiered on November 4, 2006 on the VH1, mainly to promote the DVD release of the film three days later on November 7. Totally Awesome parodies 1980s movies like Dirty Dancing and The Karate Kid. Mikey Day plays Charlie, a young man who moves into a new town, where he is automatically dubbed the most unpopular person at his high school. He also falls for the prettiest and most popular girl at the school, whose boyfriend is a stereotypical jock and bully. In addition to Charlie's attempts to survive the new school and court the girl, the movie also covers subplots involving him and his sister. The film stars Tracy Morgan, Chris Kattan, Dominique Swain, and Jason Bateman.
