KWBT (94.5 FM) is a radio station broadcasting an Urban Contemporary format. KWBT HD2 broadcasts a national SportsTalk format from CBS Radio, relayed on to FM translator 94.1 K231CG, and branded as "CBS Sports 94.1".
Both KWBT & K231CG are licensed to Waco, Texas, United States, and the stations serve the Waco area. The primary facility is owned by Jerry and Loy Lenamon, through licensee Kennelwood Radio, LLC., while the relay translator is owned by Wendolynn Tellez, a translator operator based in Laredo, Texas.
History
The station went on the air as KANF on 11 August 1995. On 8 September 1995, the station changed its call sign to the current KBCT.[1]
On December 31, 2013, the KWBT calls and Urban Contemporary format on 104.9 Bellmead moved to 94.5 while 104.9 FM became KBHT, who in turn launched a Rhythmic Top 40 format.[2]
Currently, 94.5 The Beat "Central Texas' #1 for Hip Hop and R&B", leads in ratings.[citation needed] With the #1 night show in central Texas, The Tite at Nite Crew ( hosted by BKLYN W/2oz & DJ ADezzy), being the only live radio show. Brooklyn and ADezzy have quickly become Waco's go to show for the ride home; full of gossip, games, music and conversation. Following in rating are DJ Precyse with Nyce Afternoons with DJ Precyse and the midday princess Jazze, and also Steve Harvey Morning show.
