Downtown Edmonton is a region of central Edmonton, Alberta. It is not a single neighbourhood per se, but is actually a larger community containing five neighbourhoods and a number of districts.

Generally speaking, downtown Edmonton is bordered by 97 Avenue to the south, 109 Street to the west, 95 Street to the east and 104 Avenue to the north. Within downtown are five city neighbourhoods. They are, the Commercial Core, the Government Precinct, Jasper-West, MacKay Avenue and Rice Howard Way. The neighbourhoods of Queen Mary Park to the north, Oliver to the northwest, Chinatown and McCauley to the northeast, Jasper-East (Boyle Street) to the east and Rossdale to the south are usually considered to be part of downtown, but strictly speaking they are not.

The population of Edmonton's downtown is still low relative to certain other cities, despite major rejuvenation initiatives, though thanks to a booming economy and development of major condominium and apartment projects, the population of the city core is rising steadily.

Edmonton Transit System's light rail system runs beneath the downtown core, beneath Churchill Square and Jasper Avenue until Grandin Station.
