The San Diego Fleet is a professional American football team based in San Diego, California and are charter members of the Alliance of American Football.[1][2] The league is set to begin in February 2019, and the team will play its games at SDCCU Stadium.[2] They will be coached by former NFL head coach Mike Martz.[2] The team will be the only active professional football team playing in San Diego and the first since the former San Diego Chargers moved to Los Angeles in 2017. (Early reports had Rick Neuheisel coaching the team before he instead agreed to take the coaching job in Phoenix.)[3]
