Rio Rico is a census-designated place (CDP) in Santa Cruz County, Arizona, United States. The population was 18,962 at the 2010 census.

Geography

Rio Rico is located in Santa Cruz County north of Nogales at the confluence of Sonoita Creek and the Santa Cruz River.[4]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the community has a total area of 62.3 square miles (161.2 km²), all of it land.[5]

As of the census[7] of 2010, there were 18,962 people residing in the community. The population density was 304.6 people per square mile (117.6/km²). There were 6,356 housing units at an average density of 102.1 per square mile (39.4/km²). The racial makeup of the community was 71% non-Hispanic White, 0.4% Black or African American, 0.6% Native American, 0.5% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 25.6% from other races, and 1.8% from two or more races.
