List of oldest living state leaders
Appearance
This article lists the 100 longest-lived current or former heads of state or heads of government of sovereign states (often a president, prime minister or monarch) whose age can be proven beyond reasonable doubt. Leaders are not included if no reliable secondary sources have confirmed that the leader is alive within the last 10 years. Leaders currently in office are in bold on purple, with Mahathir Mohamad of Malaysia being the oldest currently-serving head of government and Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom[α] being the oldest currently-serving head of state.

- ^ a b In 1952, Princess Elizabeth acceded as the monarch of seven Commonwealth realms. She currently reigns as Queen of 16 sovereign states—including the United Kingdom. From 1957 to 1983, most of her British colonies attained independence, and some joined the other realms in different years; most states ceased to be a realm upon becoming republics.
- ^ By virtue of his position as President of France, Giscard was also concurrently Co-Prince of the Principality of Andorra.
- ^ They were either members of collective presidencies, interim leaders, de facto leaders or widely recognised leaders whose true power was limited.
