Little Women is an upcoming remake of the 1868 Louisa May Alcott novel of the same name. Greta Gerwig has written the screenplay and will direct the feature this coming fall in Boston. The film will star Saoirse Ronan as Josephine March, Emma Watson as Megan March, Timothee Chalamet as Theodore Laurie Laurence, Laura Dern as Abigail 'Marmee' March, Meryl Streep as Aunt March, Florence Pugh as Amy March and Eliza Scanlen as Elizabeth March.

Production

On 6 August 2016, Gerwig was announced to re-write the screenplay for Amy Pascal and Sony Pictures, taking over from Sarah Polley[1] On 29 June, 2018, it was announced that Saoirse Ronan, Timothee Chalamet, Meryl Streep, and Florence Pugh were all in-talks to star; and that Greta Gerwig will direct her second solo-directorial feature. [2] On 3 July, 2018, it was confirmed that Meryl Streep will play Aunt March, and that the film will focus on the sisters' young adult lives jumping back in forth in time. [3] On 24 July 2018, Eliza Scanlen joined the cast. [4] On 14 August 2018, It was announced that Laura Dern had entered talks to star, and on 24 August 2018, it was announced that Emma Watson would replace Emma Stone in the role of Meg March. [5][6] On 2 October 2018, it was announced by Tom Rothman that Arnon Milchan's New Regency had come on board as co-financier for the project. [7]
