The Rijkswerf (Dutch: State shipyard) in Amsterdam was a Dutch shipyard that build a significant amount of warships for the Royal Netherlands Navy. In 1867 the shipyard was modernized to build armored ships. In 1915 the shipyard ceased to exist. The first armored ships the yard constructed were copies of foreign ships purchased by the Dutch navy. Later ships were built to Dutch designs. The yard built among others ironclads, protected cruisers, coastal defense ships, gunboats, monitors and unprotected cruisers.

Admiraal van Wassenaer	Frigate	1856	3650	A wooden vessel originally laid down on the 15th February 1833 to be named "Piet Hein", taken apart in 1850 and again laid down in 1853 as steam powered vessel. Taken into service on the 16th July 1857, taken out-off service on the 1st January 1913 and sold to be demolished on the 28th May 1913 in Amsterdam.
