Francesco Convertini was a Catholic Priest belonging to the Salesians of Don Bosco congregation, who was declared Servant of God.[1][2]
Early Life
Francesco was born in Locorotondo, Italy on 29 August 1898.
He served in the Military during World War II and was held as a war prisoner in Poland.[3]
Mission to India
After being released from the prison, he joined Salesians and was sent to India to serve the mission. He reached India on 7 December 1927. In India he gained fame among people for his unconditional and unbiased service to people.[4]
Death
He died in Krishnagar, West Bengal, India, on 11 February 1976.[5]
Beatification
He was raised to the level of a Servant of God on 10 January 2017 by Pope Francis.[6][7][8]
