Westminster Massacre

The Westminster massacre was an incident that occurred on March 13, 1775, in the town of in Westminster, Vermont, then part of the disputed then part of the New Hampshire Grants.[1] Two men were killed by British colonial officials (a band of local men led by the local sheriff) in Westminster, Vermont, which was then part of the New Hampshire Grants, whose control was at the time disputed between its residents and the Province of New York.
Many were wounded and two Vermonters were killed as a result of the incident.[2] One of the casualties was William French, a 22 year old, who was shot at Westminister.[3]
