Kadhi chawal ("yogurt curry with rice") is a popular, rice based dish from India. There are several variations of this food that can be found in states such as Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat. The meal consists of besan (gram flour), dahi (yogurt) and spices.[1][2]

Kadhi is very popular staple especially in the western & northern states. It usually has a thick consistency using chickpea flour & Curd (dahi). Kadhi in Gujarat & Maharashtra is savoury & sometimes do not have any fritters (Pakora).[3]
