Taina is a live-action Nickelodeon sitcom which starred Christina Vidal, Khalilah Adams, David Oliver Cohen, Chris Knowings and LaTangela. Taina is a Puerto Rican aspiring singer and dancer who wanted to become a star. She along with her best friend Renee Jones attend Manhattan School Of The Arts along with Lamar and Daniel. Taina and Renee's archnemesis Maritza attended the same school they did and was also an aspiring singer. The show premiered on January 14, 2001 and lasted for two seasons. The show was even put on Nickelodeon's SNICK lineup on Saturday nights in January 2002 until the show was cancelled that May. Nickelodeon cancelled the show because they thought it only appealed to girls and didn't bring in enough male viewership.

• Guest stars on the show have included Kelly Rowland, Shakira, 3LW, Nick Cannon, and Joe (singer).
• Several episodes were directed by actress Melissa Joan Hart, star of Sabrina, the Teenage Witch. Vidal guest starred on an episode of Sabrina in 2003.
• Christina Vidal was twenty years old at the time of playing Taina, a fourteen year old girl.
• Taina's idol in the show is Latina actress and singer Jennifer Lopez.
• Nickelodeon had anticipated Taina to be the biggest show in the network's history.
• The soundtrack of the show featured songs by Christina Vidal, and LaTangela Newsome as well as some of the shows past guest stars such as 3LW and Dream.
• The show is similar to "That's So Raven", seeing that both have the same physical comedy and both are minorities with a gimmic (Taina is an aspiring singer/dancer and Raven is psychic). Taina premiered in January 2001 and it's 2nd season premiered in January 2002. That's So Raven premiered in January 2003.
• There was a DVD release of the show titled, "Be Careful What You Wish For" in the UK, but was not released in the US.
