Matthew Michels (born 1960) is an American politician serving the 38th and current Lieutenant Governor of South Dakota since 2011. A member of the Republican Party, he previously served as Speaker of the South Dakota House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007. Dennis Daugaard picked him as his running mate in the 2010 gubernatorial election;[1][2] they were reelected in the 2014 election.
