Chandhara
Chandhara or Chand Hara is a village in the Pampore town of district Pulwama in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, India. The village is a native home of 16th-century poet and ascetic, Habba khatoon, located approximately at half a mile from the national highway. The main occupation of people is saffron cultivation.
Etymology
There is no documental evidence although its being said that once upon a time this place was ruled by a king namely Chandan.He was defeated by some rival king and people chanted 'Chandan hara' which in english means Chandan lost and hence the name 'Chandhara'.
