Fair use rationale for Image:Lincoln logo.jpg
Image:Lincoln logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Lincoln High School (New Zealand) → Lincoln High School, Selwyn – According to our naming conventions, we use a comma rather than ellipses for disambiguation, and we use the city or town that the school is located in rather than "New Zealand". The school is located in Lincoln, New Zealand and it doesn't seem quite right to use "Lincoln" as a dab as there are dozens of American schools of this name that commemorate the American president Abraham Lincoln. There are a number of options here and I tend to favour the use of the district name as that is closest (as it were) to our convention of using the town's name: "Selwyn". - Support Per WP:COMMADIS but wouldn't just Lincoln High School, New Zealand do? Indeed if it had a different name, it would presumably be disambiguated with "Lincoln" but that's not possible due to being tautological and there being multiple high schools with this name in other Lincolns. However I'm not that familiar with NZ's NC so I'll take whatever others think is best. An example is Newark Castle, Nottinghamshire, WP:UKPLACE specifies that places usually go under "Place, County" if ambiguous, but those located within a larger settlement get "Place, Larger settlement" but for the same reason Lincoln, England using the country, not county if the feature and settlement have variations of the same name, then we fall back on "Place, County", which would appear to be the case here (since NZ uses "Place, Country" by default to disambiguate). Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:53, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
- Also we kept Category:People educated at Kelso High School, Scotland here, instead of Category:People educated at Kelso High School, Scottish Borders (with the article at Kelso High School, Scotland), even though the article on the town is at Kelso, Scottish Borders. Crouch, Swale (talk) 18:21, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose WP:COMMADIS is about place names not institution names and WP:NCNZ is similarly place name focused. Comma disambiguation gives a misleading impression that something is actually called that, comma and suffix et al. The current disambiguation works far better but no objection to moving to Lincoln High School (Selwyn). Timrollpickering 19:20, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Timrollpickering: you might want to have another look at WP:NCNZ as item 4 specifically mentions schools. I know that the New Zealand conventions are different to other conventions but we are discussing the naming of a NZ school; this is not the place to discuss the NZ conventions in general. Schwede66 19:57, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
- The UK version also is to use commas for schools, like most geographical features, see Category:Schools in Suffolk. Crouch, Swale (talk) 20:04, 13 November 2018 (UTC)

- Oppose. “Selwyn” does not even have a mention in the article. —SmokeyJoe (talk) 23:01, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
