We should mention that he is credited with coining the term "diabetes", as well as an early description of coeliac disease. JFW | T@lk 22:34, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
Aretaeus is also credited with being the first to write that mania and melancholia may be phases of one disease: what used to be manic-depressive disease and is now called bipolar affective disorder or simply bipolar disorder. NRPanikker 14:01, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
