Ever Night (Chinese: 将夜) is a 2018 Chinese television series based on the novel Jiang Ye by Mao Ni. It stars Chen Feiyu and Song Yiren. The series airs on Tencent Video starting October 31, 2018.[4]
Synopsis
In the ancient world lies a prophecy: Upon the arrival of Yong Ye, the world will be thrown into chaos
The story takes place in the Tang Dynasty. Ning Que is the last surviving personnel of General Lin Guangyuan, after everyone under his command was massacred by senior general Xia Hou through detailed framing and ruthless execution. He escapes with his maid, Sang Sang to Du City. Through relentless hard work, he managed to get into the best academy and come under the tutelage of the leading scholar there. He took up the responsibility of protecting his country and people, and managed to redress his family's grievances. When Sang Sang comes down with a strange illness, Ning Que brought her to seek medical help. They then find out that Sang Sang is the reincarnation of Yong Ye, and she suddenly finds out the whole world is after her. To protect Sang Sang, Ning Que abandoned his tasks and brought her to wander the world. They find out that the creator of Sang Sang's ill-fated destiny is Hao Tian, a man adored by the world. Under Hao Tian's manipulations, war is about to break out and the world is thrown into chaos. Ning Que works together with fellow academy students to fend off the invaders. However, Sang Sang is captured by Hao Tian and the Yong Ye inside her is unleashed. In a battle between life and death, Ning Que managed to kill Hao Tian, bringing peace to the world and saving Sang Sang.

Production
The script for Ever Night was once awarded the Gold Prize at the 网络文学双年奖, and reportedly took two years to complete.[24] Penning the script is Xu Run, who once wrote the screenplay for notable television series like Records of Kangxi's Travel Incognito and Maritime Silk Road.[1] The production team has also invited Yoshitaka Amano to act as the series' concept director, and John Bruno as the special effects director.[2]
The series began filming at Xinjiang in August 2017, and wrapped up filming in February 2018.[5][25] Filming took place in Xinjiang and Guizhou.[3]
