Rothesay Brandane Amateur Football Club are a football club playing in the town of Rothesay on the Isle of Bute in the Firth of Clyde in Scotland. They were formed in 1946 and after joining the Scottish Amateur Football Association were accepted to compete in the West of Scotland Amateur League, before transferring to the Scottish Amateur Football League in 1947; they won the league in the 2000-2001 season - the first time since 1964.[2] After competing in that competition for almost sixty years, they resigned membership in 2004 to play in the Caledonian Amateur Football League Division 2. They currently play in Division 1 after winning promotion after the 2007-08 season.[3]

Nicknamed "the Danes", the team have reached the semi-final of the Scottish Amateur Cup on one occasion in season 1948–49, losing by a 4–3 scoreline to Greenock High School Former Pupils. They take the name "Brandane" as this is the term given to indigenous inhabitants of Rothesay.

Also in their history, Rothesay Brandane have won the West of Scotland Amateur Cup, The Coronation Cup, The Colin McGinty Cup, and on two occasions, the highest scorers trophy.

Their top scorer for season 2008–09 was Liam Neeson with 16 goals. Neeson also had the most assists, most man of the matches and most mentions in the Buteman for the same season. Top shinty player John Wilson w is also involved with the club.

The team picked up silverware in the 2016/17 season when they defeated the Port Bannantyne Terror Squad 3-2 to win the local cup final.

In the 2017-18 season, The Danes went on an impressive unbeaten run in the league. Winning all their games which granted qualification into the prestigious Alan Maconie Trophy. The competition is still underway with The Danes winning their first game against the Craiglang Auld Team. The tournament is being sponsored by Mr. Bambino's Chip Shop. They are offering a Pickled Onion and an Apple Tango to the eventual winners.
