The D Line is one of several planned bus rapid transit lines in the Twin Cities as part of the Arterial Bus Rapid Transit (ABRT) network.[1] As an ABRT service, the D Line will feature "train-like amenities" including improved station facilities, off-board fare payment, modern vehicles, fewer stops, and higher frequency.[2] The current alignment runs from Brooklyn Center to Downtown Minneapolis and onward to the Mall of America, mirroring the existing Route 5. As of 2018, the project is in the planning and design phase, with construction slated to begin 2020-2021.
