Draft:Santa Rosa (steamship) (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs)

6 months after this was kept at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Draft:Santa Rosa (steamship) this page retains the misleading "promising draft" template so it will not get G13'd. Has been around since 2011. Legacypac (talk) 21:38, 11 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Robert McClenon: DESiegel hasn't edited since July. CoolSkittle (talk) 09:18, 12 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment - I think that all of the regulars at MFD are in agreement that {{Promising draft}} is a terrible idea. Maybe we should take it to Templates for Discussion. Robert McClenon (talk) 04:58, 12 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • It is not a terrible idea, it has just failed to find traction amongst people wanting to help with abandoned drafts of some value. A problem is that it still doesn't autocategorise (I asked for help with that, but should follow up), and the fact that it was linked from a newsletter, defeating the special:whatlinkshere function for the template. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 05:56, 12 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The template is an aweful idea - a dumping ground of crap that no one follows up on. The darn link from the newsletter also gave me trouble. I had to go to the category to start working the list. If someone wants to move the fixed page to mainspace there is no objection from me - this can be closed. Legacypac (talk) 08:16, 12 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
