A barnstar for you!

The Editor's Barnstar
You have shown proficient editing skills through your edits, and nobody yet has thanked you yet. I promise I’ll conjure some WikiLove beers for us, but for now, take this incredibly safe yet spiky barnstar. Also, minor note, protecting your main user page if not a subpage is useless for semi, only blue lock and above do anything since an edit filter will deny access to new users and IPs. 😛 Have a great New Years, Nim. We all wish you a merry... New Years and a happy new year! Your contributions, numbering in many to this encyclopedia are remembered and highly appreciated. Thank you for your service. Thank you for the civility. Thank you for everything else I’d have to give you around ten barnstars for. I really appreciate your work. You are amazing. We appreciate what you do. I can tell you personally, I am extremely glad you are here. You are a presence that is the most wonderful thing here by all regards. Over all, I just want to thank you for everything. Keep at it. As an editor, you are extremely trustworthy and helpful. And, maybe someday, someone will need co-nominations for their RfA, and the RfB which they will surely pass. You are appreciated. I can’t even properly describe the good works you do. I would like to give praise to you, your legacy, and all that you have done. I salute you. Best regards, Redactyll Letsa taco 'bou it, son! 09:34, 1 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Reorder form for more beers below-shipments cost only €significant.contribution! Enjoy, really. You’ve earned it. Best regards, Redactyll Letsa taco 'bou it, son! 09:37, 1 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

BMW 3 Series lead image

Hi Nim. Happy 2019 to you, I hope you have a good year.
Regarding the article models that span multiple generations, personally I think it is preferable for the lead image to be of the current generation. For the BMW 3 Series article, I agree that the previous G20 image was not of suitable quality. Given that the G20 has only been released recently, there's no rush to find a find a replacement for the current F30 image. Cheers, 1292simon (talk) 00:11, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No, not really. WP:CARPIX specifies "...The image selected for an article's top (lead) infobox does not need to show any particular version or generation of the vehicle, such as the latest, the last, the first, the best-selling, or any other. However, the image must be representative; low-volume, obscure/unusual, or otherwise unrepresentative variants are generally not preferred for the lead infobox image. Vehicle production date is not a factor when determining the quality of an image and its suitability to illustrate the lead infobox. Regardless of the ages of the vehicle shown, pick a clear, high-quality image according to the image quality guidelines; one that clearly shows a vehicle relevant to the article without photoflash glare or other photographic faults, against a simple and contrasting background. Such an image is always to be preferred over a lower-quality image, such as one that shows photoflash glare or a distracting background." Thats why i did it, if it did not specify, then I'd do that :) --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 00:56, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Ahh, thanks for the information about WP:CARPIX.
Sorry to see that you are thinking of retiring from Wikipedia. If you are not currently enjoying it, a break is probably a good thing. Your improvements to the photos here will be greatly missed. Either way, all the best. Cheers, 1292simon (talk) 11:47, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I just feel like my photos aren't valued. I'm going to be here on a part-time basis from March-October. I think with a topic ban coming up (see WP:ANI, I am not sure whether to contribute (I can't seem to find anything else worth to contribute). I won't be fully contributing to my extent. Also Davey2010, suggested for me to have a break, so that the problems with users can be alleviated. Look, I know I may have gone too far in 2018, but wasn't happy at this time about the changes. I do apologise to Vauxford, Davey and Charles for how I was acting, but there are times when people need to contribute. Would you like to see my website when completed. You can have it :) --EurovisionNim (talk to me)(see my edits) 12:54, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Nim, I mean no disrespect I think you're a great guy but could you please stop pinging me, I think it's great you're taking a break but I really don't need to be notified about it ...., I don't mind occasional car-image RFCs but talkpages are beginning to be OTT. Cheers, –Davey2010Talk 19:15, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Nim. Sorry to hear about the dispute you're currently involved in. Regardless of what happens there, it sounds like you're not really enjoying your time on wiki (I'm sure writing long posts about a touchy topic is far less enjoyable than doing photo work!), then a break is probably a good thing. Once things have calmed down, I'm sure there's a way you can make positive contributions without getting into fights with Vauxford.
Yes, I would be keen to see your website. Please let me know when it is ready! Cheers, 1292simon (talk) 22:16, 3 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Retirement

Hi all, i've announced, due to the proposed topic ban at WP:ANI, I've decided to cease all editing activity permanently. I think its because automobiles have been my thing in the past, but its better for everyone. Have a good one all, and I'll probably return to editing soon.

Retired?

Stop the nonsense Nim. If you are retired, then why is 202.58.170.123 doing exactly what you do all over the place? It's not like you have been blocked or anything, but you are definitely dancing close to a lot of lines.  Mr.choppers | ✎  04:04, 9 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid I agree with Mr.Choppers. This ain't "retirement": 120.188.65.92. Charles01 (talk) 14:36, 9 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Notice that you are now subject to community restrictions

Per this community discussion, you are subject to the following restrictions:

  • You are indefinitely banned from all edits and pages related to automobiles, broadly construed. You may appeal this restriction to the community at the administrator's noticeboard after six months.
  • You are banned from interacting with Vauxford for a period of six months.

Both of these restrictions are subject to the usual exceptions. Please note that both of these can be appealed on the grounds of an incorrect close immediately in the usual venues; the time restriction on appealing the TBAN is where you accept that I have read consensus correctly but would like the community to give you another chance.

I do hope that your retirement is not permanent and that you return to constructive editing. GoldenRing (talk) 11:56, 18 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
