Fartsa (Template:Lang-ru) is a Russian criminal drama about fartsovka (a phenomenon common in the USSR in 1950s-1980s).

At the beginning of 2017, Fartsa became one of the first Russian TV series which was sold to the world's largest American online cinema, Netflix.[1][2]

Story

Kostya Germanov lost heavily at cards, and owed organized crime a large amount. His three friends, Andrei, Boris and Sanya, decide to help Kostya. Four friends are forced to become fartsovshchiki and speculators to help their friend.

Series

The premiere was broadcast March 30, 2015 on Channel One.

'1-2 series:' The series is set in 1961, Moscow, in the epoch of Gagarin and space exploration. Novice writer Andrei, whose story was published in Youth, returns to his hometown. He is met by childhood friends. Soon all of them - Andrew, Boris, Sanya, and Crutch - become fartsovschiki. At the same time, the guys have a stormy personal life: Andrei is happy with his bride Nadya, Crutch is in love with Boris's sister Zina, Boris is fascinated by prostitute Tatyana, whom he met “at work”. Nobody knows about Sanka's secret love. Andrei, with the help of Yanskoy's editor, Lanskoy, becomes the secretary of Mikhail Svetlov. After daring adventures, one of the lucky guys pays attention to criminal authority Pont.

'Series 3:' At the suggestion of music-lover Boris, friends set up production and marketing of bones. It was decided to hide the money from transactions in the cell of the storage chamber. The friends are faced with currency traders, whom Crutch owes a large sum. To save everyone, someone must take the blame.

'Series 4:' A year later, the friends go to a new level and begin to begin to experiment with cinematographic equipment. The director of commissions, against whom the guys have compromising evidence, is forced to help them. Major Vostrikov, Nadi's father, enters the trail of daring fartsovshchik, unaware that he is well acquainted with the organizer of transactions.

'5 series:' Andrei has a long-time affair with Lanskoy, but she chases him away: everything that he now writes is gray and inept. Andrew gets drunk and does not attach importance to the disappearance of Tatiana, who is to meet with a foreigner in the "National" to transfer money. Zina is called to help - she speaks English well.

'6 series:' Friends decide to divide the common money and engage with fartsovka. The investigation of Vostrikov is complete: he demands that Andrei write a frank confession, but Nadya does not allow it. Andrew learns about the underground katran, which keeps Pont.

'7 series:' Friends gather in the garage to share the money. But the cache is empty. All suspicions fall on Crutch. Sanya unexpectedly for Nadi makes her an offer. Vostrikov covers the underground quarters of Pontus, but only arrests one person.

'8 series:' Vostrikov on parole releases Andrei from the department for one hour so that he can complete one thing. Zina comes to Andrew in the bullpen and admits that he loves him. At the court hearing on the case of Andrew, there is an unexpected witness.
