Malaysia M3 League (Template:Lang-ms) is the third level of the football league competition in Malaysia. Contested by 14 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Malaysia Premier League and Malaysia M4 League.[1] The league was created in 2018 as part of Malaysian Football League plan to reformed Malaysian football league structure.

History

In 2018, Malaysia M3 League was supposed to form the fourth division of Malaysian football league, however after Football association of Malaysia confirmed a reformed of Liga FAM as knock-out competition, the league was announce as a replacement to form the third division of Malaysian League.[2][3][4][5]

After a re-branding of Malaysian Football League (MFL) in March 2018, the company has announced a reform lower league competition in Malaysia.[6][7] In 2019, a new subsidiary of the company was formed as Amateur Football League (AFL) which will be tasked to manage the third division and below.[8] The AFL has officially confirmed the formation of Malaysia M3 League and Malaysia M4 League as the third and fourth division of Malaysian League as an amateur league competition.[9]

A total 14 clubs has been confirmed to compete for the inaugural season of newly reformed third division, Malaysia M3 League which replaced the former Liga FAM.[10] 14 groups of competition throughout Malaysia will run in parallel and formed the Malaysia M4 League. The a qualified champion from 5 FA State League and 9 Social League teams are from the inaugural 2018 season was promoted to Malaysia M3 League.

The following 14 clubs contest the league in its current season, including the 3 clubs from the 2018 Malaysia FAM League. 10 clubs are promoted from the 2018 Malaysia M4 League (previously known as Malaysia M5 League). 4 clubs withdrawn from the competition and 1 club invited by the organizer to participate the competition which is Tun Razak City F.C
