Daniel Delamare

Daniel Delamare (born May 17, 1954) is a French businessman specialised in art investments. Previously, he owned an art gallery: "Galerie Daniel Delamare."

Galerie Daniel Delamare

Daniel Delamare started his career in a Paris press agency before launching a business textile in 1978.[1]

Then, he opened an art gallery in 1987 on the Avenue Matignon in Paris.[2] He hired 15 anonymous painters to reproduce "genuine copies" of famous painters including Gauguin, Degas, Cézanne, and Van Gogh. And he exhibited these original copies in his art gallery. Although these were not originals, some of the masters' descendants were rewarded with royalties. Each canvas had a "Daniel Delamare-Copie" stamp, and each one was unique in its kind.[3] The gallery was sold in 1995.
