Conservative in lead

This guy Boot is hardly a "conservative," and a far more accurate description of his Weltbild would be that he is a Trump-hater now who at one time in the distant past held some conservative positions. Wikipedia is very well established as a pro-Left source, and it just underscores the essential political bias of Wikipedia to have an article pretending that Boot is a "conservative" in order to invigorate his critique of Trump. I post these true remarks in the hope that Wikipedia can remove its political bias and actually start to serve as a neutral source of information.

IP editors keep taking this out, eg here. While labels can be contentious and/or meaningless, I don't see that this one is; rather it is an informative description of his political position and background. It is how he is regularly described and self-identifies, and including it at the outset explains a pretty basic fact about him to any reader straightaway. The USA Today column referenced doesn't have him denying being one, just him saying that Trump has "disfigured the ... movement". N-HH talk/edits 14:45, 1 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I think it helps the reader, which should be our highest priority. As recently as last week, Boot described himself as a former "smart-alecky young conservative" who isn't as young as he was when he attended college and who has "had [his] consciousness raised", and wrote that he "remain[s] a classical liberal". (See Classical liberalism, especially the sections on the meaning of the term and the United States, for information about why "classical liberal" means "conservative".) — MShabazz Talk/Stalk 15:56, 1 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It certainly helped me. I came here pretty unaware of him, and was left none the wiser from the lead as to where he stood in terms of US politics. "Conservative" is a broad label, but precisely because of that it narrows things down a bit without doing so too much. Googling the term with his name leaves little doubt that this is what he is usually described as. Hence WP should follow that. N-HH talk/edits 12:48, 2 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Pretty nonsensical to leave out "conservative" from the lede - according to his own biography "He was a senior foreign policy adviser to John McCain’s presidential campaign in 2007–08, Mitt Romney’s campaign in 2011–12, and Marco Rubio’s campaign in 2015-2016." and his new book is "The Corrosion of Conservatism: Why I Left the Right" link. We need not make him out to be a "right winger" but he certainly has tended conservative throughout his career. Bdushaw (talk) 14:22, 19 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Russian Name

As can be seen in other Wikipedia articles on Russian-American geniuses like Igor Sikorski, it’s customary to also include the subject’s name in Russian. We are a nation of immigrants and diversity is our strength, so let’s showcase our diversity.Alterrabe (talk) 12:47, 9 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
