It's Okay (One Blood) is the first single from The Game's second album, Doctor's Advocate. The Game himself revealed that the song would be released on July 31, 2006, but actually was revealed on July 24. The song was originally to be released on July 4, but got pushed back by The Game. Jimmy Rosemond, head of Czar Entertainment and The Game's manager, explained how One Blood would receive positive radio airplay and prove the talent that The Game has.[1] When news of The Game's first single was announced by Rosemond, it was revealed simply as One Blood and is the name it commonly goes by (also, the words Blood and One Blood are repeated through out the song). The song samples Junior Reid's One Blood and features Junior Reid himself. According to Reefa, the producer of the song, "One Blood" was mixed by Rap-A-Lot/Tha Dogg Pound affiliated producer Mike Dean for Dean's List Productions.
The Game made a music video for the song, which debuted on BET on August 22, 2006.[2]
The video features revised lyrics in order to accommodate television decency standards. The Game is walking alone for most of the video to symbolize that he is the one Blood. There are appearances in the video by Juice, Ya Boy, Nu Jerzey Devil, DJ Skee, and Tyrese.
Remixes
An official remix was released on November 6, 2006. It features 25 different hip-hop artists. They rap in this order: Jim Jones, Snoop Dogg, Nas, T.I., The Game, Fat Joe, Lil Wayne, N.O.R.E., Jadakiss, Styles P., Fabolous, Juelz Santana, Rick Ross, Twista, Kurupt, Daz Dillinger, WC, E-40, Bun B, Chamillionaire, Slim Thug, Young Dro, The Clipse and Ja Rule.[1] The song is 11:50 seconds long.
A West Coast remix was released on November 10, 2006. It features new verses by The Game and adds Crooked I as well as Glasses Malone. The song also includes West Coast artists featured on the original remix (Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, Daz, WC, E-40).
In addition, a Southern remix is to be released. Another two remixes featuring East Coast rappers and solely female artists are also to be released.
The Southern Remix will include every southern rapper from the "One Blood Remix" & Others. The East Coast Remix will feature Cassidy, Busta Rhymes, Papoose, Nas, Diddy, Fabolous, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana & other East Coast Rappers. The Female Remix will feature Eve, Lil' Kim, Mary J. Blige aka Brook, Missy Elliott and other female rappers.
