José Luis Mendilibar Etxebarria (born March 14, 1961, Zaldibar is a Spanish Basque football manager, currently the coach of Real Valladolid.

He enjoyed an average career as a player, never representing a club in the Spanish fist division. Following his retirement in 1994, he was a minor coach at Athletic Bilbao, before being appointed first team coach at Lanzarote and then Eibar. His success at Eibar on a very limited budget involved narrowly missing out on promotion to La Liga at the end of the 2004/5 season. He was then appointed manager of Athletic, the club he had supported as child, but was sacked after several months in charge, Athletic having made their worst ever start to a La Liga campaign.

He was appointed manager of Real Valladolid for the 2006/7 season.
