Spies in Disguise is an upcoming American computer-animated spy comedy film produced by Blue Sky Studios and distributed by 20th Century Fox. Loosely based on Lucas Martell's 2009 animated short Pigeon: Impossible, the film is directed by Nick Bruno and Troy Quane in their directorial debuts, and stars the voices of Will Smith, Tom Holland, Karen Gillan, Rashida Jones, DJ Khaled, Martin Clunes, Chris Lang, The Umbilical Brothers, Ben Mendelsohn, and Masi Oka. The film is scheduled to be released on September 13, 2019.

Premise

When an unexpected event puts the world in peril, Lance Sterling, the world's greatest super spy, must team up with his gadget inventor Walter in order to save the day while disguised as a pigeon.

Voice cast

Additionally, Ben Mendelsohn and Masi Oka have been cast in undisclosed roles.[4]

Production

It was announced on October 9, 2017 that development was underway on a film based on the animated short Pigeon: Impossible, with Tom Holland and Will Smith lending their voices to the lead characters.[5] Audi will feature a vehicle, the RSQ E-tron concept, in the film as the personal vehicle of Smith's character. It is a concept car designed by Audi specifically for the film.[6]

In October 2018, new additions to the voice cast included Ben Mendelsohn, Karen Gillan, Rashida Jones, DJ Khaled and Masi Oka.[7]

Release

Spies in Disguise was set to be released on January 18, 2019 by 20th Century Fox,[3] but was then pushed back to April 19[8] before getting moved to its current release date on September 13.[9]
