Mabel Alabama Pearl McVey[2] (born 19 February 1996), known professionally as Mabel, is a British singer-songwriter. Born in Málaga but raised in Sweden. Later on she moved to London at the age of 18. She is the daughter of Swedish singer Neneh Cherry and Massive Attack record producer Cameron McVey.[3][4] Her brother is former Mattafix singer Marlon Roudette.

Mabel had her mainstream breakthrough in 2017, with "Finders Keepers" becoming her first UK top-10 single.[5] In 2019, she was nominated for British Breakthrough Act at the Brit Awards.[6]

Career

Mabel's career began in 2015 with her debut single, "Know Me Better".[7] In 2017, she impacted UK charts with "Finders Keepers", which peaked at number 8 on the UK Singles Chart.[8] She has since released her 2017 debut extended play Bedroom, as well as a mixtape, Ivy to Roses.

Mabel opened for Harry Styles during the European part of the second leg of his tour Harry Styles: Live on Tour.[9]

After her tour with Styles, Mabel embarked on her own headline tour through the United Kingdom and Europe.[10] In 2018, she was featured on "Ring Ring" alongside rapper Rich the Kid and remixer Jax Jones. Also in 2018, she re-released her 2017 mixtape Ivy to Roses with new cover art, and songs released since the initial release. Mabel is currently working on her debut album.[11] On 18 January 2019, Mabel released "Don't Call Me Up", which debuted at number 11 on the UK Singles Chart. The song has peaked at number 3, becoming her highest-charting single to date.[5]
