Frederick Patrick Reed (May 12, 1870 – February 7, 1942) was an American football coach. He served as the first head football coach at Doane College in Crete, Nebraska and he held that position for the 1892 season. His coaching record at Doane was 1–1.[1] Reed was an alumnus of Dartmouth College, with his hometown being Weeping Water, Nebraska. He was on a team that edited the Aegis 1892, Dartmouth's yearbook.[2]

Reed was also a graduate of a medical school in Kansas City, Missouri, where he attained his M.D.. He later worked as a physician in Weeping Water and in Denver, Colorado.[3][4]

He died in California in 1942.[5]
