He was born in Sonora, California[4] to parents Gary and Joyce Pfeiffer.[5]  Josh credits his parents as being two of the most influential people in his musical development.[6] His father Gary was involved in the Christian music industry for many years and is known for writing the Christian camp/folk song ‘It’s A Happy Day’ [7]arranged by Barry McGuire and featured on the Agapeland album by the Dove Award winning [8] group Candle.[9] His mother Joyce was a voice and piano teacher. He attended Summerville High School where he was active in the music program, including the original Jazz@8 Choir. He went on to receive Outstanding Musicianship Awards at the Santa Cruz Jazz Festival, Redding Jazz Festival, and Fullerton Jazz Festival. Pfeiffer received a number of music scholarships after graduating.[10]

Career

In 2010, Josh made his debut with American Crooner Act:1, a jazz music album, featuring cover versions of Big Band standards as well as original compositions, Life, Beautiful Girl, California Days, When I'm With You, and Where I Want To Be. The album features the late Tower Of Power founding member and trumpet player Mic Gillette,[1] as well as pianist Kent Gripenstraw.[11] In 2016, Pfeiffer released the music video for his single Life, which was directed by Alejandro Guimoye. The video is dedicated to his late parents, and features his daughter, Tamara Pfeiffer.[2][12] His single Life reached the Top 10 on the iTunes UK singer songwriter chart, and held a spot in the Top 40 for the final week of February. On February 25, 2018, the single peaked at #6 On iTunes UK Chart.[13][14] In late 2017, Pfeiffer released his single and music video entitled Brand New Shoes, written and co-produced by David Schram, and mixed by Grammy Award winner, Joe Chiccarelli.[15][1][16] His single 'Brand New Shoes went viral on Internet and received millions of views on YouTube.[17]The single reached the Canadian iTunes Charts peaking at #63 [18]on the main chart and #15 on the pop chart April 15, 2018[19] On November 17, 2018, Pfeiffer released the single and music video 'One More Time'.[20] It is the artists first release in the country music genre.[21] The song peaked at #1 on the UK iTunes Country Music Chart in January 2019,[22] and #38 on the UK iTunes overall chart January 1, 2019.[23][24] The single also reached #57 on the British Official Charts Sales Top 100, the week ending January 3, 2019.[25][26]
