Hi Ananth subray. You added Category:Indian mathematicians to multiple articles. However, per guidelines [E]ach categorized page should be placed in all of the most specific categories to which it logically belongs. This means that if a page belongs to a subcategory of C (or a subcategory of a subcategory of C, and so on) then it is not normally placed directly into C.
The pages you added the category are already members of Category:20th-century Indian mathematicians, Category:21st-century Indian mathematicians and so on so they should not be added to Category:Indian mathematicians. I am reverting all your additions, but if a page is not a member of these subcategories, feel free to reintroduce the correct specific category. Best regards. --Muhandes (talk) 11:46, 11 March 2018 (UTC)
- Needless to say, Category:Indian mathematicians is a subcategory of Category:Indian mathematics, so it should not be added to any article about an Indian mathematician. --Muhandes (talk) 14:18, 11 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Muhandes: I'm also curious how Valentine Joseph is an Indian mathematician, since it states very clearly he was a Sri Lankan. You might want to keep an eye on this, since he seems to be adding the tag indiscriminately to any and all articles he wants to. - ක - (talk) 16:00, 11 March 2018 (UTC)
- I think it is an honest mistake. Now that the policies were explained I'm sure Ananth subray will be more careful in the future. --Muhandes (talk) 19:20, 11 March 2018 (UTC)

Christ University
I have posted a proposed move here. Eastmain (talk • contribs) 00:48, 19 April 2018 (UTC)
- (Discuss) – Christ University → Christ (Deemed to be University) – The university's website https://christuniversity.in/ uses the new name. Another editor feels that using the new name would go against naming policy. Two previous moves to the new name have been reversed. Under Indian law, a deemed university has most of the privileges of being a full-fledged university without actually being one, so I think the distinction is a valid one. Government Museum page
Hi Ananth,
Firstly thank you do much for your contributions to the Government Museum, Bangalore page. Especially the gallery additions. We need more contributors like you to join the GLAM effort in India.
I do have some suggestions though. I feel there are a disproportionate amount of picture here, effectivery flooding the page and we need to prune it down to a manageable set. Perhaps you can pick some of the special pieces, perhaps around 5. The rest can be part of a linked commons category.
These contributions of yours are valuable indeed. However we need to balance readability and user ability to sustain interest in a page. It is advisable not to have too many images for a part of the collection. Besides the museum has many other gallery/sections that we could potentially cover through pictures.
Please assist with selecting the 5 pictures to retain for the external idol gallery.
Thanks again. Look forward to collbaorate with you.
