Pendu Sound Recordings was an indie label used by aTelecine,[2] Chelsea Wolfe,[3] Azar Swan,[4] Mater Suspiria Vision,[1] White Ring,[5] Talibam!,[6] Starred,[7] Tempers,[8] Von Haze,[9] and others.

Todd Brooks started the NYC label also known as Pendu Sound for his PENDV projects in 2005 and closed it in 2013.[1] The parent company Pendu NYC  was known for its "Pendu Disco" dance parties.[10]

History

The Pendu Sound  compilation album Getting rid of the glue  with Excepter and Daniel Carter was listed as number 70 in Thurston Moore's "Top 80 of 2006".[10][11] The White Ring Chaind Vol. 1  DJ mix released in August 2011 contains remixes of own tracks, NIИ, Rihanna, and others.[10][5] Also in August the LP The Falcon and the Pod was released.[12]

In May 2012 Pendu Sound  joined forces with Frenchkiss Records,[13] and the Frenchkiss Label Group  published a compilation of works from all contributing labels.[10] In November 2012 Noisey featured Todd Pendu.[14] In February 2013 Pendu Sound  launched a digital single series with the Tempers.[8][15][16]

The Pendu Sound  site still offers reviews, photos, videos,[17] interviews, and other background material about their former artists, featuring Sasha Grey's Juliette Society in one of the last posts.[18] Motto at the bottom of all pages:

Pendu Sound Recordings specializes in frenetic musics, headrushers, creepers, burners, rippers, jammers, cosmic blissers, wreckers, bangers, nailbiters, teethgrinders, night terrors, and all manifestations of materialized intuitive and spontaneous actions.
