Belgium has straight up banned the practice of straight up allowing the loot box model to exist.

EA sports has resisted this movement in order to maintain their business model within FIFA 2018's ultimate team. They resisted and were hit with a lawsuit from Belgium which they eventually gave up on and removed the feature. "But EA continued to sell loot boxes (i.e. randomized card packs in Ultimate Team) in FIFA 18, and it's now reportedly under criminal investigation in Belgium."
