Carissa's peer review

[edit]

Hi Gabriela, it seems like you were able to figure out the problems you were having with your Sandbox, which is great! Here are some of my thoughts:

  • It looks like you are missing some citations, but this may be another technical issue that you already know about and have been working on.
  • I like that your introduction section briefly talks about estrogen in general before you talk about how estrogen relates to behavior in more detail for the majority of the section.
  • This is just a personal preference, but I would write "Sexual behavior and sexual desire" (including the information you have on lordosis) and "Mental health" as two different subsections instead of as bullet points.
  • I think the image you included on lordosis is perfect, especially since it is a concept that the average person probably would not be familiar with before reading the article. I think the bullet point you have following the image is meant to be a caption for the figure and, if so, it does a great job summarizing what is happening at each of the numbered parts of the picture.

Overall, I'm really impressed with what you have. Like I said, I think you did a good job presenting information on estrogen that is related to behavior while also including a summary of estrogen in general. You also clearly differentiated the information that relates to males versus females and humans versus animal models. I think the only thing left to do would be to make sure everything in your article section is cited.
