University of Kigali is a fully accredited and chartered university by the Government of Rwanda. UoK started its operations in October 2013.[1][2] [3] The current Vice-Chancellor of the University is Prof. Abraham K. Waithima.
History
The university started operations in October 2013, with 649 students and has experienced rapid growth in enrolment of more than 6,000 students in the undergraduate programmes and more than 1,000 students in the postgraduate programmes. Its main campus is based in Kigali, Boulevard de l'Umuganda in Kacyiru and its secondary campus in Musanze, RSSB building. The University has international students from Nigeria, Burundi, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, China, Ivory Coast, Gabon, Ethiopia, Turkey, Central African Republic, Congo (Brazzaville), Senegal and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
