The Standard Life Centre is a 13-storey high-rise building in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.[1] The 62 metre building was completed in 1983,[1] and is part of the Lloyd D. Jackson Square complex.[2]The building was named after the Standard Life Assurance Company of Canada, one of the companies responsible for the development of the Jackson Square complex.[3] The building has since been renamed, and is now officially known as 120 King Street West, but many locals still refer to it as the Standard Life Centre.
Description
The building's exterior facade is comprised of rows of concrete walls and glass windows. The interior features a large central atrium with a fountain at its base, as well as column-free floor plates. The Jackson Square mall, as well as the 3 other office buildings in the complex are accessible from the lobby and plaza levels. The building features a large common underground parking lot with a capacity of 1300 vehicles.[2]
