Central City Shopping Centre (formerly known as Surrey Place Shopping Centre) is a shopping mall and office tower complex in Surrey, British Columbia. It is located adjacent to Surrey Central Station of the SkyTrain system, in downtown Surrey.
It is one of the largest malls in Surrey, along with Guildford Town Centre and Semiahmoo Shopping Centre. Notable retailers include Best Buy, Shoppers Drug Mart, T & T Supermarket, Zellers and a newly opened Future Shop. It is also home to many educational institutes, including the Surrey campus of Simon Fraser University (called SFU Surrey), Douglas College, Stenberg College, Universal Learning Institute, Vancouver Career College and Westwood College. Its office tower (112 metres) is also currently the tallest building in the city of Surrey.
Occasionally, events are held in the front courtyard area, adjacent to the Pub.
Almost all public transit buses in Surrey, serviced by TransLink, have connections to the mall, with additional routes to Langley City, Langley Township and White Rock.
Central City and Hollywood
Central City has appeared in several films and television shows. It has appeared in Fantastic 4, and it also stood in for the LuthorCorp headquarters in season three of Smallville.It was also shown in the movie Firewall.
