Shershaah is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language biographical film directed by Vishnuvardhan, written by Sandeep Srivastava and produced by Karan Johar under his banner of Dharma Productions. The film features Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani in the lead roles. The film is based on the life of Captain Vikram Batra, an officer of the Indian Army. The film was announced on 2 May 2019, by Johar on his Twitter account. Malhotra began military training for the film on 17 April 2019. The principal photography commenced on 7 May 2019 and will be shot in Chandigarh, Palampur, Kashmir and Ladakh.[1][2][3]
