Hermenegildo Balbino Tantoco Reyes, was a Boy Scouts of the Philippines Scouting notable, Filipino educator, lawyer and electrical engineer. Reyes served on the World Scout Committee of the World Organization of the Scout Movement from 1961 to 1967.
Reyes co-founded University of the East and served Far Eastern University second university president from 1945 to 1946, he is the uncle succeeding founding president Nicanor Reyes Sr.; past vice-president and legal council of (Manila Electric Co.) Meralco and past member of board trustees of the Knight of Columbus and Knight of Rizal Orders. Reyes was born to Vicente Tantoco Reyes and Olympia SanAgustin-Reyes and graduated from Ateneo de Manila University Bachelor of Arts in 1914 and earned his Ll.B from University of the Philippines and Admitted to Integrated Bar of the Philippines in November 18, 1935; also graduate Bachelor in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University New York in 1918, Appointed associate professor in UP Mechanical and electrical department and Past President UP Electronic a Electrical Engineers Alumni Association. Reyes died in 1983, Also cousin of Hermenegildo Reyes Reyes, Sr (Sons: Crispino "Babes" Pacis Reyes, Sr. and Hermenegildo Pacis Reyes, Jr.) founded of Central Colleges of the Philippines and HR Reyes Construction, Inc.. A private subdivision in Marikina City boundary Quezon City streets name after him Hermenegildo Reyes together with his ancestral relative Francisco B. Reyes, Pedro Reyes and Nicanor B. Reyes Sr..
Reyes was awarded the Bronze Wolf Award, the only distinction of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, awarded by the World Scout Committee or exceptional services to world Scouting, in 1967.[1]
