Edi Karni (born March 20, 1944 in Tel Aviv) is an Israeli economist and decision theorist. After obtaining his B.A. in Economics and Political Science in 1965 from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, he earned his Ph.D in 1971 under the supervision of Milton Friedman,Gary Becker and Stanley Fischer. Edi is currently a professor at Johns Hopkins University. His most influential works are at the fields of decision-making under uncertainty and risk and social choice.
