Uncle John's Bathroom Reader is a reference book filled with highly random information. It was first published in 1988, and is currently up to its 17th "regular" issue, along with specialized books. These are traditionally called Uncle John Plunges Into (History, Presidents, Texas, etc). There are also books on the weather, numbers, quotes, the year 2001, a special book for mother's day, Uncle John's Book Of Dumb, and three Bathroom Readers for Kids, along with many more. Gifts such as toilet paper and tote bags are available at their website, [www.bathroomreader.com].

Their regular issues consist of information on various subjects. Popular segments include quotes, dumb criminals, palindromes, anagrams, urban legends and hoaxes, failed inventions, the history of everyday things and accidental discoveries. Throughout the books, there are "running footnotes" on every page, short, little fun facts on the bottom of the page.
