- 2019 Amhara Region coup d'état attempt
- The Attorney General of Ethiopia's Amhara Region, Migbaru Kebede, passed away after having been wounded during the coup attempt two days earlier. Asaminew Tsige, the general suspected to be behind the coup attempt, is still reported to be fugitive. (DW)
Disasters and accidents
- Two German Eurofighters collide in mid-air and crash near lake Müritz in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The pilots were reportedly able to eject before the crash. (DW)
