Some websites cite her as a descendant of Karl Marx. Does this qualify her as being of part German descent? Or at least having German ancestry? http://metro.co.uk/2010/02/25/victoria-beckhams-communist-background-as-alien-ancestry-revealed-130128/ http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-1041751/Poshs-proletariat-past-Victoria-Beckham-descended-Communist-comrade-Karl-Marx.html 74.32.24.180 (talk) 06:40, 18 November 2013 (UTC)
- Not done: they don't say she was descended from Marx, but from the far less notable Carl Heinrich Pfaender. I doubt this is worth a mention. --Stfg (talk) 14:21, 18 November 2013 (UTC)
Oh okay. I wasn't expecting it to be mentioned I was just curious and this seemed like the place to ask. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.32.22.222 (talk) 00:15, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
The reason her 'ancestry' keeps coming up, in my opinion, is because of the first picture from 2010, less photogenic of her. It should be replaced. And a family picture that includes their two sons would be great, later in the article. — Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 21:51, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
Then she could could be part Jewish, which would explain her complexion. 86.149.128.202 (talk) 00:52, 27 August 2014 (UTC)
What you said doesn't make a lick of sense. You are a very foolish person. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.224.198.189 (talk) 07:49, 22 September 2018 (UTC)
Controversy?
Here is what is in the second part of the Controversy section, at the moment:
"It was reported in October 2007 that Beckham had turned down the opportunity to appear in Sex and the City: The Movie. She stated in an interview: "[I was] asked to be in the Sex and the City film, which I would have loved to have done, but because I am in full-on Spice Girls rehearsal mode, unfortunately, I can't do it."[119] Beckham's marriage and career as a singer have made her the 52nd richest woman in Britain[120] and the 19th richest person in Britain with husband David, with an estimated joint wealth of £112 million ($225 million).[5] In 2010, Beckhams's charity work with Save the Children earned her a nomination for the Do Something With Style Award from the VH1 Do Something Awards. The awards show, produced by VH1, is dedicated to honouring people who do good and is powered by Do Something, an organization that aims to empower, celebrate, and inspire young people.[121] She is a patron of the Elton John AIDS Foundation."
How exactly are charity work, wealth and power, and a failure to be in a movie because of Spice Girl obligations considered Controversies? this page needs cleaned up. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Xapxapxap (talk • contribs) 17:09, 20 June 2014 (UTC)
Fashion or couture?
Hi John, just a quick note on this. I changed fashion to couture in order to distinguish from other fashion brands VB had previously launched (jeans, glasses) and her other fashion forays with other brands. I can't call it own brand as she'd previously used her name on jeans and it is technically couture. Fair point to take the quote off in the lede – was possibly making it overlong – but The Independent information, ref and quote about guest editing French Vogue and being in a panel discussion with the head of Parsons NY was an attempt to describe the transition VB has made from not being taken seriously to being taken rather seriously in some quarters. It also goes some way to addressing the banner about info being out of date. Any objections if I write that info back in? Libby norman (talk) 19:40, 6 July 2014 (UTC)
- I thought "couture" sounded rather fancy; as I understand it, it is just a French term for fashion. Can we take this to article talk? --John (talk) 19:52, 6 July 2014 (UTC)
- Of course, but couture doesn't just mean fashion. Haute couture (basically, made to measure as opposed to ready to wear) would be a term for the high-fashion brands, such as Chanel, Versace and so on, and that's the sector her label is in. What about the section you lost from The Independent which brings VB up to date and describes her work with Vogue France and Parsons NY? Many thanks. Libby norman (talk) 22:13, 6 July 2014 (UTC)
- I prefer "fashion". What do the sources say? --John (talk) 23:13, 6 July 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks John, I appreciate your assistance in moving this onto the Talk page. On couture, maybe this could be changed to something like Victoria Beckham brand (given that couture is likely to cause confusion), but we need to distinguish somehow between earlier endeavours and the move into a solo design business. Note that I've reinserted The Independent section that was reverted earlier but it's now paraphrased – it brings things a bit more up to date to address some of the concerns of the outdated flag of June 2014 and I've included the ref that supports it. Many thanks Libby norman (talk) 00:47, 7 July 2014 (UTC) (talk) 00:05, 7 July 2014 (UTC)

"Whispr Group" ?

- Not done: Assuming that you are requesting Whispr be changed to Whisper, the cited source refers to it as the Whispr group, and a quick Google search seems to confirm this http://whisprgroup.com/ Cannolis (talk) 10:08, 6 April 2015 (UTC)

Request to add to Power and Influence Heading
Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I am a student at California State University of Fullerton and our class is doing a Wikipedia assignment on editing Wikipedia articles. I wanted to request to add on some more information on Mrs. Beckham's Power and influence heading. I also wanted to created a subheading (6.1 UNAIDS International Goodwill Ambassador), to allow readers to acknowledge her active participation as an ambassador. I also wanted to add to her banbossy excerpt to show her contributions to the campaign.
Here is what I'd like to add:
On September 25, 2014, the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS appointed Beckham as UNAIDS International Goodwill Ambassador. The announcement was made at an event held during the 69th United Nations General Assembly in New York. Michel Sidibé spoke out, stating “I dream of a generation free from HIV and I know that Victoria’s support will help us achieve this shared goal. Her creativity, innovation and outreach will amplify our efforts and bring us one important step closer towards ending the AIDS epidemic.” It is noted that Beckham will be working towards the goal of making sure children are born free from HIV, and that measures are taken in ensuring women and children who are currently affected by HIV, to have access to proper medicine and care. Due to being a patron of the Elton John AIDS Foundation for 20 years[1], Beckham has already worked with a lot of different AIDS charities. After being appointed, she had stated “This is the beginning of an important journey for me. As a woman and a mother I have a responsibility to support other women. I am proud and honoured to be working with UNAIDS in this new role to help to raise resources and awareness to support and empower women and children affected by HIV.” [2]
In September 2015, Beckham made her third [3] official speech during the first day at the UN’s Social Good Summit as her newly appointed title. She was also awarded the Fashion 4 Development Award for her work with UNAIDS and commitment to raising awareness on HIV during the Fashion 4 Development annual First Ladies Luncheon.[4]
On March 10, 2014, after joining Ban Bossy, Beckham tweeted a quote by her from the campaign: “It is thought provoking that a man in charge may be described as commanding, however a woman in the same situation may be called bossy”[5], then captioning the tweet with an empowering message: “#banbossy Encourage girls to lead”[6] and encouraging others to join her.
