Lloyd Nelson Hand (born in 1929) served as United States Chief of Protocol from January 21, 1965 to March 21, 1966, under President Lyndon B. Johnson.[1] He had been appointed the same day he assumed office. He was preceded by Angier Biddle Duke, who resigned,[2] and succeeded by James W. Symington. He now works as Senior Counsel at the law firm King & Spalding.[3] He is a member of the Council of American Ambassadors.[4]
