George Kunkel (politician)

George Kunkel (March 10, 1893 – May 18, 1965) was an American lawyer and politician.

Kunkel was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and went to the public schools. He also went to the Harrisburg Academy and the Franklin & Marshall College. Kunkel also studied law at Harvard Law School from 1915 to 1917. Kunkel served in the United States Army during World War I. In 1920, Kunkel received his law degree from Dickinson School of Law and was admitted to the Pennsylvania bar. He practiced law in Harrisburg and served on the Dauphin County, Pennsylvania Commissioners Board. Kunkel was involved with the Democratic Party. Kunkel served in the Pennsylvania Senate from 1937 to 1941. He died at the Harrisburg Hospital in Harrisburg from heart problems[1][2] and is interred in Harrisburg Cemetery.[3]
